Blog Phase 1: Micro Lesson #1

  1. Hi Ashley!

Creating this lesson with you was fun. i'm glad we were able to collaborate as productively as we did. I think this lesson will be overall effective, fun, and engaging for our class. Especially with the 4th graders that it is actually designed for. I always like the idea of students collaborating in groups. My only concern is with forth graders it would depend on the class to see if they can handle working in groups that are less supervised than they normally are throughout the school day. Great job!

  2. Ashley,

This lesson sounds so fun! I think your students would really enjoy this and stay engaged because you made a topic that is not always that fun or interesting much more interactive. I think it would be helpful for your students to have some whole class sharing time about what they think the branches of government do after they have small group talk so you know that not only were the students on task and discussing what they were suppose to be discussing but also that the students who had no idea now have some clue/idea what the class is talking about. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Ashley,

This lesson is very concise in what each procedure is accomplishing. I like the idea of having gifted students being able to share their understanding, and assisting others in their comprehension. I also like how you have multiple online resources for the students to use.

  4. Hi Ashley,

Although, I think this lesson is great, I would make sure to include both your writing and technology in the lesson plan. Other than that, it looks awesome!

    Thanks for sharing!

  5. Hi Ashley,

This looks like a great way to motivate students in learning about the government as well as practicing technology skills. Thanks for sharing!
